SI è riunito stasera, presso la sede della Misericordia di Floridia, il Coordinamento dei Governatori delle Misericordie di Ragusa e Siracusa.
Presenti i Governatori delle Misericordie di Avola, Ferla, Floridia, Melilli, Portopalo di Capo Passero, Rosolini (che era anche in rappresentanza della Misericordia di Augusta) e Sortino.
Assenti i Governatori di Modica, Pachino, Priolo e Villasmundo. Segretaria della seduta la nostra Maria Grazia Scatà.
La riunione era stata convocata per discutere sulle dimissioni rassegnate, alcuni giorni orsono, dal Coordinatore Marco Arezzi, Governatore della Misericordia di Augusta e fissare la data per la elezione degli organi del Coordinamento (Direttivo, Collegio dei Probiviri e Organo di Controllo), che erano scaduti a seguito della elezione dei nuovi organi confederali, svoltasi lo scorso 20 giugno a Campi Bisenzio.
Dopo aver accettato le dimissioni di Marco Arezzi, il coordinamento ha stabilito che le elezioni si terranno il prossimo 30 novembre ’21, presso la sede della Misericordia di Avola.
Spetterà al Direttivo, poi, eleggere al proprio interno il Presidente, il Vicepresidente con funzione anche di Segretario e l’Amministratore.
Si è anche discusso della partecipazione alla costituenda Federazione Regionale.
Le Confraternite che ancora non hanno provveduto a farlo, faranno pervenire la loro adesione quanto prima, ritenendo un punto di forza per l’intero Movimento, e di quello siciliano in particolare, creare un organismo sovraordinato e decentrato che possa portare avanti e sostenere le nostre Misericordie, che rappresentano anche in Sicilia una realtà del Terzo Settore di rilievo e di primo piano.
A margine della riunione, le Misericordie di Portopalo e di Rosolini hanno proposto alle consorelle del Coordinamento l’organizzazione di un evento territoriale al fine di accrescere la sensibilizzazione verso il grave problema della violenza sulle donne.
“Le Misericordie non possono rimanere inerti spettatrici” ha dichiarato il nostro Governatore, Nino Savarino “ma devono farsi promotrici e fautrici di quella cultura della civiltà dell’amore che è la nostra stessa missione e che trova il fondamento nel rispetto incondizionato della persona umana”.
L’occasione ci è data dalla pubblicazione del libro “Vite rubate” di Manola D’Amato, sorella di Attilio Nardo, Vicegovernatore della Misericordia di Portopalo, che tratta di “una storia vera, cruda, struggente” che riguarda una donna “che riesce a scappare dalle mani del suo aguzzino e dalla sua denuncia riemerge dopo circa quindici anni il caso di una 17enne napoletana comparsa nel maggio 2000, la cui identità fi scoperta solo circa due mesi dopo in una cella dell’obitorio di Padova”.Presto sarà reso noto il programma.
